BMW 3/15: 1929
BMW acquired vehicle manufacturer Automobilwerk Eisenach in 1928. Along with the factory, they also inherited the right to manufacture and sell their Dixi 3/15 vehicle. This would be the company’s first ever car.
Renamed and upgraded, the BMW 3/15 was ready for release in 1929. The popular vehicle was powered by a 743cc 4 cylinder engine, which allowed it to reach speeds of 50 mph.
BMW Isetta: 1955
The Isetta was BMW’s most popular vehicle throughout the 1950s. It is often credited with saving the company from extinction following World War II.
The 1955 Isetta is best remembered for its tiny size. In fact, it is so small that it was once legal to drive with a motorcycle license.
BMW M1: 1978
The M1 was to be a collaborative effort between BMW and Lamborghini. However, the German manufacturers decided to go it alone due to their partner’s money problems.
Released in 1978, the M1 was BMW’s first ever supercar, capable of reaching speeds of 162 mph. The M1 was in production for just three years. Nevertheless, it is fondly remembered for its stylish appearance.

As one of the world’s most popular luxury car brands, BMW Group has seen its annual revenue rise considerably over the last decade.
The car manufacturers revealed ‘Strategy Number ONE’ in 2007. This outlined their plans to make BMW the world’s leading premium car manufacturers, targeting profit and innovation. So far, their new approach appears to be working.
As a result, the BMW market cap currently stands at €55.8 billion.
